Well, I've signed up for another slightly intrepid trip, this time to the USA in June/July this year and I can't wait to go.
We'll be visiting lots of libraries and attending the ALA conference in Washington, along with 20,000 other librarians!
I'll keep you updated as plans progress.

More things
I've added a facebook page for the library and updated twitter. I'm over the facebook addiction but then I find something new!!
Things 24-48 are now here on library 2.1....will it ever end?

Time flies
Suddenly it's a month and a half since I last posted...where did the time go?? The family is now getting ready fro the big G party on Saturday night in Paynseville for George's 80th. I've decided to go as a gypsy!!! Fortune telling and all. Should be fun.
There have been lots of social evnets as usual and lots more to come. Movies on Monday night, the LGPro conference dinner on Thursday night, off to Paynseville on Friday, Tramcar Restaurant Thursday week for dad's official birthday and then Kerryn's farewell and Intrepid Librarian on the Friday night followed by dad's second party!!!

City Living!!
Today I move into the city apartment for an exciting week of city living. I feel so cool and groovy.....(well, not really, I'm just as much a dag as I've always been).
I've got Holley, Matthew and Andrew coming for dinner on Thursday and Wolf and Trish on Saturday night.....should be fun.
Christmas day was fun yesterday at Chris and Lyndall's and the boys were gorgeous.
Lauren and I went to the movies at 8.30 to see The Darjeeling Limited which was funny and quirky...I enjoyed it a lot.

A city apartment
I'm very excited about next week. Deb (the gorgeous communications manager from work) is lending me her city apartment in Market Street. It's on the 22nd floor overlooking Southbank and the Casino, perfect for New Year's Eve. I'm sure I'll feel like I'm in Sex in the City!!
Tonight I've been searching the internet to find a restaurant for dinner on NYE. finally found a very groovy place. the Kitten Club, that will let us just come for dinner and then we'll head back to the apartment to watch the fireworks at midnight.
Other news this week, Lauren has moved to Fitzroy so the house is feeling a little empty. I've done my Christmas shopping, except for Dad, and I'll do that tomorrow....so yay!!!

An average life
Since I got back from New Guinea at the beginning of August life has been a blur of work and social engagements. I can't believe I was this busy before I went away.....but people tell me I was!!
So, to the average life, it certainly doesn't consist of anything intrepid, but after my PNG experience I think that I can claim to be slightly intrepid...even if I'm not being intrepid as we speak.
This week has been another blur between helping to organise the staff Christmas lunch for 350 people and not getting home till 4.30am this morning so I'm feeling slightly the worse for wear. Can't wait to see Free Loading Phill's blog entry about it all.
Thursday night was spent at the Spicks and Specks show at the Comedy theatre which was very funny!!! Well worth the $48 for the ticket.
Last night was spent at the social club Christmas party and then into town to a couple of clubs....hence the 4.30am!!
Oh and I went to another Web 2.0 seminar and have gotten enthused once again so I of course am annoying everyone who will listen to me about the possibilities for the library!!

Things # 1-23
Having completed the things over the past few months and cajoling, begging and berating staff to complete the training (or at least listen to the podcasts)I thought it would be judicious for me to post my thoughts on the training.
Like Free Loading Phill I am slightly sceptical about some of the uses but its great to know about it all the same.
As for the social networking I'd rather meet people face to face...I joined second life (as Esther VanDerperk) about 6 months ago but have only been onto the site twice...I don't have enough time for my first life let alone a second!!
